Murder mysteries and other stories

Murder weapon

Ivor Case Mysteries offers a number of one-hour long Murder-Mystery scripts suitable for social events, fund-raising or just plain having fun.

The plays are set in a variety of locations – a school, a manor house, a castle, a country estate – and involve usually around ten actors with an evenly split cast of female and male characters.

We have been presenting the plays since 2006 and helped raise funds for a variety of charitable causes.

Murder is academic

Murder is Academic has a private school as its setting. The headmistress has many a murky secret she does not wish revealed and all the staff, both teaching and non teaching, have an axe to grind where she is concerned. One day she is found by a member of staff and the school secretary slumped over her desk. The staff were forced to break in to her office as she had locked the door from the inside and the key was still in the lock. This is a mystery for DCI Ivor Case and DS Jo Bluett to solve.

Deadbeat

There is no doubt that Sir Henry Etheringham is a very nasty piece of work. When his father, the Earl, dies at a ripe old age leaving nothing in his will except debts, Sir Henry is very upset. It is compounded when he discovers that the housekeeper and butler have each been bequeathed considerable sums for past services rendered to the old philandering Earl. Sir Henry refuses to bury his father in a specially built vault and has it knocked down for a piggery. During a family vigil for the old man, Sir Henry is murdered in front of the Earl's coffin. Did the dead spirit exact revenge or is the answer to who killed Sir Henry found in a more down to earth location? Another mystery for Ivor Case and Jo Bluett.
